自从侍者请我点菜之后
似乎很长时间了
脏兮兮的小吃店
外面飘着雪花。
天好像变得越来越暗了
因为我最后听见我身后
厨房门的声音
因为我最后一次注意到
有人在街上经过。
一杯冰水
一直陪伴着我
在这张我为自己选择的桌子旁
进门的地方。
一种渴望
难以置信的渴望
想偷听
厨子们的谈话内容。
Seems like a long time
Since the waiter took my order.
Grimy little luncheonette,
The snow falling outside.
Seems like it has grown darker
Since I last heard the kitchen door
Behind my back
Since I last noticed
Anyone pass on the street.
A glass of ice water
Keeps me company
At this table I chose myself
Upon entering.
And a longing,
Incredible longing
To eavesdrop
On the conversation
Of cooks.
