蟋蟀来的时候

夏天还没走，

但我们知道那温吞吞的钟

只是走回了大本营

蟋蟀走的太匆匆

冬天还没有来

但那感伤的钟摆

遵守着深奥的时间

’T was later when the summer went

Than when the cricket came,

And yet we knew that gentle clock

Meant nought but going home.

’T was sooner when the cricket went

Than when the winter came,

Yet that pathetic pendulum

Keeps esoteric time.
