假如沉默需要一个
标识物,那一定不是树木
因为那些叶子
相互之间窃窃私语
永不停息;
那也一定不是池塘
它表面的平静
因为神秘莫测的鱼儿
浮出水面
而破个粉碎;
假如沉默需要一个
标识物,那一定是你
站得如此笔直,不依不饶,
你无语的脊背改变了
我所有言辞的轨迹。

to silence, it would not be
the tree whose leaves
murmur continuously
among themselves;
nor would it be the pond
whose seeming stillness
is shattered
by the quicksilver
surfacing of fish.

很多时候
月儿不也是黯淡的吗?
如果没有字母形成的
暗色印迹
白色的书页
岂不显得不够完美吗?
上帝召唤光明之时
并未把黑暗驱赶。
相反他创造了
乌木和乌鸦
还有你左面脸颊上
那颗小小的痣。
或者你是不是要问
“为何你总是忧郁?”
那就问问月儿吧。
问问它曾经目睹了什么。

Ask the moon.
