Elysium

天堂

by Emily Dickinson

Elysium is as far as to
The very nearest room,
If in that room a friend await
Felicity or doom.

What fortitude the soul contains,
That it can so endure
The accent of a coming foot,
The opening of a door!

Wild Nights

by Emily Dickinson

Wild nights! Wild nights!
Were I with thee,
Wild nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile the winds
To a heart in port,
Done with the compass,
Done with the chart.

Rowing in Eden!
Ah! the sea!
Might I but moor
To-night in thee!

God's Residence

Emily Dickinson

Who has not found the heaven below
Will fail of it above.
God's residence is next to mine,
His furniture is love.

亦将地狱变天堂;
亦将天堂变地狱;

The Riddle We Can Guess

by Emily Dickinson

The Riddle we can guess
We speedily dispise --
Not anything is stale so long
As Yesterday's surprise --

I'm Nobody! Who are you?

by Emily Dickinson

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you - Nobody - Too?
Then there's a pair of us.
Don't tell! they'd banish us - you know.

How dreary - to be - Somebody!
How public - like a Frog -
To tell your name - the livelong June -
To an admiring Bog!

If I Shouldn't Be Alive

Emily Dickinson

If I shouldn't be alive
When the Robins come,
Give the one in Red Cravat,
A Memorial crumb.

If I couldn't thank you,
Being fast asleep,
You will know I'm trying
With my Granite lip!

A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest

Emily Dickinson

A wounded deer leaps highest,
I 've heard the hunter tell;
'T is but the Ecstasy of death,
And then the Brake is still.

我曾经听猎人谈起;

The smitten rock that gushes,
The trampled steel that springs:
A cheek is always redder
Just where the Hectic stings!

Mirth is the Mail of anguish,
In which it caution arm,
Lest anybody spy the blood
And "You're hurt" exclaim!

What I Can Do - I Will

by Emily Dickinson

What I can do - I will -
Though it be little as a Daffodil -
That I cannot - must be
Unknown to possibility -
